Ingredients:
Screwer marinade:
- 350 grams chicken or pork filet
- Paprika powder 1 tsp
- Lemon 1 piece
- Bay leaf 2 pieces
- Rosemarin 1 tsp
- Oregano 2 tbsp
- Olive oil 2 tbsp
- White wine 1 tbsp
- Garlic cloves 3 pieces
- Salt & pepper
Toppings:
- Cucumber 1 piece
- Tomato 2 pieces
- Red onion 1 piece
- Parsely 5 grams
- Pita bread 4 pieces
- Garlic or Tzatziki sauce
- Hotsauce
Preparation:
Marinade the meat:
- Cut the meat in 2.5 cm blocks, suitable to be put on a screwer.
- Mince the garlic, oregano and rosemarin as fine as posible.
- Zest the lemon and cut in half, juice 1/2 a lemon.
- Combine all ingredients for the marinade and stir a little bit.
- Leave in the fridge for atleast 1 hour, preferably overnight.
Making the dish:
- Prepare the skrewers with the meat.
- Heat up a griddle with some olive oil on medium high heat.
- Start grilling the skrewers until nice and brown.
- Cut all vegetables to desired size for assembly. My preference is pretty course cuts.
- Prep the pita’s to package or recipe directions.
- Assemble the pita’s with the meat, vegetables and sauce.
- Eat!
